Voluntary wage assignment
A loan clause that lets a lender collect from your paycheck without a court — but which you can revoke.
What "voluntary wage assignment" means
A voluntary wage assignment is a clause some tribal lenders (such as Post Lake Lending) put in the loan agreement, letting them collect a percentage of your pay — often up to 15% — directly from your employer, with no lawsuit or court judgment.
Unlike true wage garnishment, a voluntary wage assignment can be revoked in writing at any time. If you receive a wage-assignment notice, send a written revocation to the lender and your payroll department and keep a copy.
