Gentle Breeze Online Closed

La Posta Band of Mission Indians · 2013–2021

Gentle Breeze is properly dead — its domain is not even registered, which in this industry counts as a clean ending. The FTC banned its operators from lending permanently in February 2021 and deemed nearly all outstanding debt paid in full, on the basis that the finance charges were illegal in their entirety. Its sibling brand Green Stream is a different story: someone registered that domain again in 2025 and is running a lead-generation site on it.

What a Gentle Breeze Online loan cost

The FTC did not find that Gentle Breeze charged too much. It found that the finance charges were illegal in their entirety — which is a different and much better finding for a borrower.

That is why the remedy was erasure rather than a refund. If the charge itself was never lawfully owed, there is nothing to refund and nothing to collect: nearly all outstanding debt was simply deemed paid in full.

The cash side went nowhere. The $114.3 million judgment was largely suspended because the defendants could not pay it, and a separate $5,073,597 disgorgement was entered against the La Posta Tribal Lending Enterprise, which told the FTC it would cease operations and dissolve.

For most borrowers the cancellation was worth far more than a share of a fund would have been.

What a clean ending looks like

FTC v. Lead Express, Inc. (D. Nev. 2:20-cv-00840), filed 11 May 2020, covered Harvest Moon Financial, Gentle Breeze Online and Green Stream Lending.

In February 2021 the FTC permanently banned Naito, Ikeda and eight companies from lending, entered the $114.3 million judgment, and deemed nearly all outstanding debt paid in full.

On 13 September 2021 a default judgment followed against the La Posta Tribal Lending Enterprise itself — permanently enjoined from consumer lending, $5,073,597 in disgorgement — and the case closed.

Both gentlebreezeonline.com and harvestmoonfinancial.com are now unregistered. Nothing resolves. Nobody is using the names.

That sounds unremarkable until you look at what happened to the third brand.

Green Stream’s name is being used by someone else

greenstreamlending.com resolves today and serves an active payday lead-generation site. It was registered on 15 April 2025 — four years after the ban — with a different registrar and a different IP, it names no tribe, and it describes itself as "a lender connection service" that "isn’t a direct lender".

The people most likely to search for a banned lender’s name are its former borrowers, checking whether they still owe money. That makes them a precisely targeted, and precisely vulnerable, audience for whoever now holds the domain.

If you took a Gentle Breeze loan and go looking for its siblings, this is the trap in front of you. The FTC’s order cancelled your debt; the site now using the Green Stream name has nothing to do with that order and cannot tell you anything about it.

We have found this pattern repeatedly — typosquats publishing fake sub-36% APRs under Buffalo Lake Lending’s name, sierralendings.com harvesting applications one letter from a dead lender’s address. A live site under a shut-down brand is a warning sign, not a sign of survival.

Frequently asked questions

Do I still owe my Gentle Breeze Online loan?

You should not. The February 2021 FTC order deemed nearly all outstanding debt paid in full, because the finance charges were entirely illegal, and permanently banned the operators from lending. If someone is collecting, cite the order, demand written validation, and report them to the FTC.

Can I claim money from the $114.3 million judgment?

No. It was largely suspended because the defendants could not pay, and there is no consumer redress fund or claims site. What borrowers received was the cancellation of their debt rather than cash.

Is Green Stream Lending back?

No. The FTC permanently banned the original operators in 2021. The site at greenstreamlending.com today was registered in April 2025 by an unrelated party, names no tribe, and calls itself a lender connection service rather than a lender. Do not submit an application there.
