Green Stream Lending Closed
La Posta Band of Mission Indians · 2013–2021
The FTC killed Green Stream in 2021: its operators were permanently banned from lending, and nearly all outstanding debt was deemed paid in full because the finance charges were entirely illegal. So read this carefully — greenstreamlending.com is live today. It was registered in April 2025, four years after the shutdown, it names no tribe, and it describes itself as a service that "isn’t a direct lender". Whoever is running it, it is not the company the FTC banned.

What a Green Stream Lending loan cost
The FTC’s finding here is unusually clean, and unusually good for borrowers: the finance charges were not merely excessive, they were illegal in their entirety. That is why the remedy was not a refund but an erasure — nearly all outstanding debt was deemed paid in full.
The money side is less encouraging. The judgment was $114.3 million, but it was largely suspended because the defendants could not pay it. A separate default judgment of $5,073,597 was entered against the La Posta Tribal Lending Enterprise on 13 September 2021, which told the FTC it would cease operations and dissolve.
So no cash reached borrowers. What reached them was the cancellation of the debt itself, which for most people was worth considerably more.
The site using this name today is not this lender
greenstreamlending.com resolves right now, serves an active payday lead-generation site, and would look to most people like the brand they remember. It is not.
The domain was registered on 15 April 2025 — four years after the FTC permanently banned the original operators. It uses a different registrar and a different IP. It contains no mention of the La Posta Band or any tribe.
And it says plainly that it is "a lender connection service" that "isn’t a direct lender".
This is what happens when a brand dies but its search traffic does not. The people most likely to type this name into Google are ex-borrowers checking whether they still owe money — which makes them a precisely targeted audience for whoever now owns the domain. An application submitted there is a lead, sold onward.
We have found the same pattern repeatedly: typosquat domains publishing fake sub-36% APRs under Buffalo Lake Lending’s name; sierralendings.com harvesting applications one letter away from a dead lender’s address. Treat a live site under a shut-down brand as a warning, not a survival.
The genuinely dead siblings are cleaner: gentlebreezeonline.com and harvestmoonfinancial.com are not registered at all.
What the FTC actually did
The case was FTC v. Lead Express, Inc. (D. Nev. 2:20-cv-00840), filed on 11 May 2020, covering Harvest Moon Financial, Gentle Breeze Online and Green Stream Lending.
In February 2021 the FTC banned Naito, Ikeda and eight companies from lending permanently, entered a $114.3 million judgment — largely suspended for inability to pay — and, most importantly for borrowers, deemed nearly all outstanding debt paid in full on the basis that the finance charges were entirely illegal.
On 13 September 2021 a default judgment followed against the La Posta Tribal Lending Enterprise itself: permanently enjoined from consumer lending, with $5,073,597 in disgorgement. The TLE informed the FTC it would cease operations and dissolve, and the case closed.
Frequently asked questions
Is greenstreamlending.com the real Green Stream Lending?
No. The FTC permanently banned the original operators in February 2021. The domain live today was registered on 15 April 2025, uses a different registrar and IP, names no tribe, and describes itself as "a lender connection service" that "isn't a direct lender". It is an unrelated party using a banned brand's name — do not submit an application there.
Do I still owe a Green Stream Lending debt?
You should not. The February 2021 FTC order deemed nearly all outstanding debt paid in full, because the finance charges were entirely illegal. If someone is collecting, cite the order, demand written validation, and report them to the FTC.
Can I claim money from the $114.3 million judgment?
No. The judgment was largely suspended because the defendants could not pay it, and there is no consumer redress fund or claims site. The relief borrowers received was the cancellation of their debt, not cash.
This brand is one of many that stopped lending — and in several cases the balances were legally wiped out in a settlement. See the full picture: which tribal lenders shut down, and were the debts cancelled?
