What a Greenline Loans loan really costs
Greenline Loans (also marketed as "Quick Help Loans") historically offered cash-advance and installment loans of $200–$1,000+, with rates ProPublica documented well into the hundreds of percent.
As of this writing its Rates & Terms page displays "Not Currently Lending," so it may not be issuing new loans — but existing balances and the settlement still matter.
- No prepayment penalty; encourages early payoff.
- Pre-October 2023 loans were cancelled in the Fitzgerald settlement.
- Historic APRs ran into the hundreds of percent (cash-advance rates were extreme).
- Appears to have paused new lending ("Not Currently Lending").
- Underwrites on alternative bureaus; no major-bureau credit building.
- Part of the litigated Lac du Flambeau brand family.
Where Greenline Loans lends
Greenline’s excluded-state list is long (20+ states) and varies by page; it also excludes Puerto Rico.
By its own terms, Greenline Loans does not lend to residents of:
Does Greenline Loans report to credit bureaus?
Greenline verifies applicants through Clarity, FactorTrust and MicroBilt, and does not confirm furnishing on-time payments to the major bureaus — so it will not build credit.
Ownership and the settlement
Greenline Loans is operated by Waawaatesi, LLC (also behind "Quick Help Loans"), a lending company of the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa in Wisconsin — part of the LDF Holdings family with Lendumo, Loan at Last, Lendgreen and Makwa.
It is covered by the Fitzgerald v. Wildcat settlement: LDF-brand loans made between July 24, 2016 and October 1, 2023 were cancelled if unpaid (part of ~$1.4 billion in cancellations plus a $37.35M fund), with tribal officials agreeing to request tradeline deletion. If you have a Greenline balance from that window, check the settlement first.
What Greenline Loans costs in dollars
Greenline Loans's published ceiling is 795% APR. Below is what that rate does to the amounts it actually lends, repaid over 12 monthly payments.
| You borrow | Monthly | Total repaid | Interest |
|---|---|---|---|
| $100 | $66 | $797 | $697 |
| $1,600 | $1,062 | $12,749 | $11,149 |
| $3,000 | $1,992 | $23,904 | $20,904 |
At 795%, a $100 balance accrues about $66 in interest every month. Any payment below that figure leaves you owing more than you started with, however long you pay.
Standard amortisation at the published ceiling rate; fees are not included, and your actual rate and term may differ. Run your own numbers in the payoff calculator.
Frequently asked questions
Is Greenline Loans still lending?
Its own Rates & Terms page currently displays "Not Currently Lending," so it may have paused new loans. Existing balances from July 2016–October 2023 were cancelled in the Fitzgerald v. Wildcat settlement if unpaid.
Is Greenline Loans the same as Quick Help Loans?
Yes — both are marketed by Waawaatesi, LLC under the Lac du Flambeau Band, part of the LDF Holdings lending family.
Do I still owe Greenline?
If your loan was made between July 24, 2016 and October 1, 2023 and is unpaid, it was cancelled under the Fitzgerald settlement, and tribal officials agreed to request deletion of the tradeline. Check consumerloansettlement.com.
Is Greenline Loans a tribal loan?
Yes. Greenline Loans is a tribal lending brand owned by the Lac du Flambeau Band in WI. That means it lends under tribal law and claims sovereign immunity from your state's interest-rate cap, rather than holding a state lending licence. It is also why its APR reaches 400–795% — far above the roughly 36% cap most states set for small loans. Whether the loan is enforceable where you live depends on your state.
What does a loan from Greenline Loans cost?
Greenline Loans lends $100–$3,000 at 400–795% APR. At those rates the total repaid is typically several times the amount borrowed, because interest is front-loaded — check the total of payments, not the monthly figure.
Is a loan from Greenline Loans legal in my state?
It depends entirely on your state. High-cost tribal loans are effectively banned in nine states, where a loan above the rate cap can be void and not legally collectible, and restricted in many more. Greenline Loans claims tribal sovereign immunity from those caps — an argument courts have accepted in some cases and rejected in others. Check your state before you borrow, and especially before you pay a collector.
How this site works
We are an independent registry — not a lender, not a broker and not a lead generator. This lender did not pay to appear here and cannot pay to change what the review says. We take no money from any lender and sell no applications.
Entries are built from the lender's own published disclosures, tribal corporate and lending-authority records, federal and state court filings, and CFPB, FTC and state regulator actions. Of the 143 brands in the full list of tribal lenders, 41 are confirmed lending, 74 sit on a watchlist pending verification, and 28 have shut down. Where a figure cannot be sourced we leave it blank rather than estimate it — which is why some entries are deliberately incomplete.
